Peggy Hsu is a Taiwanese singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, music producer and occasional musical actress, wrote her first song at the age of eight.

Peggy got her start at the age of 19, rising quickly to fame after uploading a demo of an original single entitled “Balloon” to a Chinese-language digital music website. The track was the most-downloaded for the year 2001, and scored for Peggy a record deal. A subsequent album bearing the same title created a storm in Asia, going platinum in each market. A decade later, the prolific Peggy has eight studio albums to her credit.

Not only is Peggy known for being a magnetic live performer, she is also hotly pursued as a songwriter/producer and has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the Mandarin music scene. Her work has been honored with several of nominations at the Golden Melody Awards – the Mandarin music scene’s equivalent of the Grammys, especially three times of “Best Album Producer”.

Peggy peeks the world with child’s perspective in her music, and you can easily find the elements of fairy tales, circus, and magical in her creative music. They are the inspirations of Peggy’s melodies and lyrics. Her music style is the only one of its kind, and successfully attracted large number of fans in Asia.

She has developed an eclectic musical style that draws on a wide range of influences and genres spanning indie-pop, circus music, jazz, electro-swing, indie-folk and folk-rock styles.

Over the past few years, Peggy had hundreds of sold-out concerts across Asia countries and cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Taipei, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Singapore… Besides of her popularity in Chinese community, she constantly invited by oversea music festival such as Glastonbury, SXSW Austin, Liverpool Sound City … with favorite gig among music critics.
